For every woman who has been hollered at while walking along the sidewalk, Chicago native Jennifer Hudson has the new anthem for you. Academy & Grammy award winning artist JHud is back in the cut with ‘Walk It Out’- an upbeat R&B single produced by Timbaland and J-Roc.
The single, which was released in April on RCA, now has its accompanying visuals directed by X. Jennifer Hudson’s previous album, I Remember Me, was released in 2011 following a short hiatus after her family was tragically killed in their home in Englewood on Chicago’s Southside.
In a recent press release she stated, “’Walk It Out’ reflects the ‘JHud’ in me. Every bit of it is a reminder and a connection of where I come from.”
The video was shot in Chicago’s Wicker Park neighborhood along Milwaukee Avenue and has scenes on the basketball courts in the actual Wicker Park. It shows Hudson walking along the sidewalk being admired by an absurdly muscular man, who strangely resembles her wrestler/beefcake of a husband.
She stops in Salon Blue, busts out with some impromptu choreography at the park, and prances in a bomber jacket showing off that new Weight Watchers figure. Timbaland makes a few spotty appearances in the visual as well gracing us with his wide eyes and iconic hand gestures.
