This summer, don’t drain your bank account on a fancy dinner rendezvous. Heat up your summer romance with these inexpensive date ideas:

1. Farmer’s Market

Head to a local farmers’ market with your partner to taste some fresh fruit and vegetables grown in your area, smell the summer flowers brought in by local florists, and peruse the art and crafts made by some of your city’s designers. It will be a great occasion with your significant other to see what your community creates!

2. Film Marathon

Escape the heat and plan an all-day indoor activity. Select a few films (both new and old), pop some popcorn, and enjoy a sweets buffet all from the comfort of your sofa. If you have a streaming video account, queue up all the films you have been waiting to watch together.

3. Dog Parks

Whether or not you have a furry friend, head to a dog park in your community to play fetch with the pups. This is an enjoyable (and frugal) date for you to score some quality time alone with your partner. It will be a great summer day spent interacting with some of nature’s cutest creatures. Bring a tennis ball and some treats, too!

4. Play Tourist

Create your own city tour! Map out a day of exploring and sightseeing for you and your partner. Visit your favourite landmarks in the city and select a few that you both have always wanted to see. Do some research online and see if any of the museums, monuments or galleries have free entry. Exploring your city on foot or on a bike can be an inexpensive and fulfilling adventure with your loved one.

5. Beach Day

Perhaps the cheapest and simplest date of them all is a day of enjoyment in the sand and sun! One of the best characteristics of the summer season is going outside and enjoying the warm weather. So grab your partner, towel, sunscreen and some snacks before you spend the day catching some rays. Stick around for the sunset and a romantic ending to the day!
